I know it seems that you wait a long time but believe me we wait a long time for everything to be correct before you are seen as a patient. If you get a bill from the insurance because something isn't right who is the person you call to complain too, us! WE didn't do this right so I have to pay this and this, we try to make sure your insurance is up to date before we see you and if it takes 30 minutes to get your insurance to answer our questions so be it. Call ahead of time if you change insurances so it can be done early before your appointment. Also don't complain or say you can't pay or can I work out a payment plan because we have a business and bills to pay also. You don't have the plumber come out and fix your sink and tell him when he is done that you can't pay him! We really try and stay on schedule, believe me i want to eat lunch just like you do, and i want to see my family at night. If you have multiple problems that need to be addressed let the person know scheduling your appointment that you may need more time because you have multiple issues. Don't schedule your appointment for a sore throat and say oh by the way as we are walking out the door can you refill all my meds, or since I'm here can you just look at this, this is what puts us behind.

THE DOCTOR DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP FOR WORK UNTIL NOON AND EXPECTED THE NURSES TO STAY THROUGH LUNCH TO HELP HIM WORK THE PATIENTS. That's if they got a lunch at all. Most times, my wife didn't even get off until 8-9pm that night. The dr still biatched and moaned at the nurses about why they were there so late. My wife tried to get me to switch to that clinic from my old dr (very satisfied with him). I told her there was no way in hell that I would sit there for 2-3 hours to see a dr.
He doesnt, and yes that guy doesnt get in a hurry for anything. I called on him as a rep and finally quit. It wasnt worth an 1.5 hr wait just for him to sign my computer.

My complaint has always been about the hidden charges. You never know from one doctor to another what you, or your insurance company is going to be charged. Doctors/hospitals should be required to post, or have publically available what their services will cost. In January I had to go to the ER for chest pains, a week later I get a bill from someone for $48.00. I called the hospital and asked what the bill was for and who was this guy? I was informed the bill was for this guy that read the results of a test that had been run on me??? I never saw the feller. Rediculous!! It's all a scam to line their pockets. C'ya

when my time comes up on my watch, I simply walk up to the front desk and say, my appointment time was XX:XX and I need to see the doctor. They always look at me with that gazed look. I tell them I altered my sched for them they need to meet the time they booked for me. I usually get into a room a little quicker, of course I sit on my rump and wait for the doctor but at least I am in line to see the doc. My dad simply walks out if they do not have the room ready at his booked time, today at 86 years old when they see him coming the get him back very quickly.

I get sick and tired of being pushed around by doctors, its not my fault they over book on purpose.

                  you need a new doc!

I had an appointment and was driving home from austin. ran into traffic.

I was 45 minutes late. I called them and told them I was running late. they stayed open till 5:30 to see me. my appt was at 4:45...

Love my doctors office. good people. ALSO, the first time I went there I waited just under 10 minutes to be seen... and the doctor appologized for me having to wait so long. I told him it wasnt long compared to others. He then said that their goal was to see there people within 5 minutes of appt time.

He said if they get behind they will call the next few people on there schedule, and let them know they are running behind before they get there and offer to reschedule them if its not urgent (like the annual check up appt's) to keep them from waiting to long.

that was when I knew I finally found the right doctors office!!!

I agree with this. I love my Doctor (even though he is an Aggie). As I said above, his office manager is new to that role, and use to just schedule procedure, which she screwed up for me. No wonder the office is screwed up. I never had to wait over 10 minutes before this woman was put in charge of the office.

You think it is bad now, just wait until the new healthcare law kicks in and there are an additional 30 million new patients AND everybody will now think that their medical treatment is FREE and hence will go to the doctor for the most minor things.
Grab hold guys and girls, it's going to get a lot worse !!!!

Conversely... I have shown up many times ahead of schedule for an appointment only to be put off for 30 or 40 minutes so lets add that up in the course of a day as well. My wife works in the medical field and I know that things happen behind the scene but more often than not the patient is not seen at the appointed time. I have been in doctors offices that had signs that said "If you are more than 10 minutes late for your apt. you will be rescheduled". I have sat and woondered just how does that work. They boot me for being late to an appointment that most likely they would nothave ben on time for themselves. Kind of an oxymoron isn't it? It works both ways.

I'd hate to be working on you as a patient that is having a stroke and look at the clock and have to tell you sorry but I have my next appt to make, we've called 911 and they'll be here in a minute to pick you up.

The county i live in has only one Dr. in the whole county. It is like an act of congress to get an appointment. what i dont like is haveing to go in when my prescription runs out. I am a type 2 diabetic. watch what i eat and take a pill a day...no big deal. She will only let me have 1 refill then i "have to see the dr." I finally get an appontment..wait an hour..go in She asks how i am feeling the nurse takes my blood pressure and they call in to the pharmacy....i am in there 5 minutes...cost? $135...man, i wish i worked for those wages....Shoe
