IMO I don't think so, yes it looks like he was running but he stopped and put the gun down like he asked and then the cop shoots him after the gun hit the ground. I think the officer is in the wrong.

Just like he said...look he is taking a gun from his right side...

The guy that the video is following isn't even the guy that shot. It is the guy that had a clear look at the gun on the right side of the bad guy.

To me, it looks like he was going for a handgun in his waist band, not knowing there was an officer behind him, if that was the case, I say yes it was justified!

Great shoot.... if it was real. There are other longer videos of it that have been out for years but it looks faked like a training video. The bad guy has a pistol tucked in the small of the back.

At about the 3 second mark you can see the suspect's right hand go to the small of the back to reach for the handgun and that is when the second officer shot him.... or would have if it was real.

If you know the whole story and not just saw the video. The Cop behind him shot him because he had a pistol in his waistband and he was reaching for it with his right hand as he is setting down the long gun.

Absolutely justified.
