    New Feeder...I Have A Question!

So, I had this new feeder built for me and it only lacks two things (cus I wanted to tinker with them) and I'm sure you can tell what they are. Funnel and lid are there but not shown.

    Tinkering Items...

    1. Motor/Timer/Spinner Hootus
    2. Varmint Guard

My question is...based on what you see underneath here, what design should I make the Varmint guard and of what material?? How should I attach it?? Obviously, this is a metal barrel.

The motor/timer hootus will be one of the typical rectangular shaped metal housings by Remington/WGI for example.

personally i would get a good 12v timer unit with the eliminator plate and forgo the critter guard.

I agree with this advice. Guards are neccesary with a 6v but on any 12v I will go with the eliminator plate instead. Not only do they keep coons out, but since more of the corn gets slung you'e less likely to get a deep hog wallow directly under the feeder. I hate having a 8"-10" deep mud hole that stays for weeks after a rain.

Are those "ol-man" corn bag holders, or a place to strap bales of alfalfa?

i understand this, but spend the money now or spend it later on corn when the coons clean you out, and lets not forget about the heart ache those little suckers cause.

                              Option 3!

No need for a cage when you have the eliminator plate!

                              Man these are awesome!
