Don't mess with strep

I've never seen or heard of this, so it has to happen to me. 2 weeks ago my wife had strep but the kids and I never showed any signs. Well Thursday I woke up and the left side of my face was a little tender. As the day went on it got worse and I got a fever. Thursday after work I went to the doc and they sent me to the ER. Admitted me and found out I had facial cellulitis by group A strep. 102+* for 2 days, swelling so bad, i had a headache for 2 days that morphine didnt fix, 4 different antibiotics through IV and I finally get released Monday around mid day.




And finally back to the living this morning... Sort of....

Strep is horrible stuff, especially if it is reoccurring. Never seen this before. Glad you are feeling better. I'm amazed at how many parents sent their kids back to school and take strep lightly! It is one of the most dangerous infections for kids and can put an adult down hard.

agreed! we had a friend of our daughters stay the night just days before my wife came down with strep. and wouldnt you know it, the lil girls grandma mentioned the lil girls strep when we dropped her off the next day just glad our kids did not get sick (yet..)

Cellulitus sucks to, I got it one time in my leg and had to be hospitalized for it. No fun

oh yea, i asked her before i left for work thursday morning....she of course said no she didnt hit me...but she never said she didnt kick me

My oldest has strep now, and my throat hurts, and my middle child goes for hee surgery on tuesday. Man we better get rid of this fast. Glad you are better

My youngest experienced cellulitis in the same place when he was in high school. His was caused by staph. The doc scared me to death when he told me how close we had to watch it, especially since it was so near his eye. I hope to never experience that one again...as I am sure you hope for the same.
