    Garage A/C

I want to install an A/C in the garage of my new Barndo. I was going to do a mini-split like my shop has. It looks like I will need 2 mini-splits to handle the square footage. The 36k btu mini split says 1,500sf coverage. Any guidance? Garage is 50x50 with 16 foot walls (peak is 24’). It will be spray foamed.

    Thoughts?

What temperature do you want to keep…when it’s 95* outside ?
      What humidity ?
      How many doors ?
How much in and out traffic ?
      Way to many veribles

      (2) 36k mini splits should keep you comfortable…but that goes out the window with doors opening and closing

Mini splits are a wonderful wonderful thing…I’m not knocking them AT ALL
However…within 5yrs you will have mold and funk build up on the blower assembly…
and it ain’t easy to disassemble and clean

This 100%. We have 2 in a smaller cabin and they need to be thoroughly cleaned every year and it takes all day to do it right. And in my opinion they are terrible about creating excess humidity.
