and it was all luck. I was at our lease this weekend hunting for pigs primarily because deer are few and far between. I was settup up with Jeremy in his ground blind with my camcorder and I had my pistol in case we had any straglers after he shoots a pig with his bow. We never got an oportunity at a pig that morning. We get out of the stand pretty early because if the pigs were going to come in the game cam tells us it was going to be earlier than it was. We get out to check the camera, and walk in the direction of a barking dog that sounded like he was on our place. As we are standing at the camera next to the feeder this bude walks out on a trail 30yards down wind. We FREEZE on the spot, and he never sees any movement. He closes the distance to us and the feeder to about 20 yards when he decides to look up in our direction. He sees us, and takes some more steps in our direction. He finally decides he doesnt like that new bush by the camera, and stops and stares for what seems like 2min. After a short wait (all the while I am contemplating if my IPSC shooting skills can compete with his reflexes) he snorts and bounds away stoping broadside at thirty yards. In one seemless motion the safety is off the gun is off, the gun is up with the dot is on his sholder, and BANG. (faster than any western I have seen in a while
) . He bucks up showing a good hit. He made it about 100 yards all together. The gun is a seven inch 10mm I finished earlier in the year.
