Fill an ammo can full of human feces and make another run over there.

Agree 100% with the above statement.
its not worth your time, move on but I get it being frustrated. Now at 64 things like this mentioned I wouldn’t have second thoughts on.

That sign was put up by the scavengers.

Last month I took a load of junk to our transfer station. There were two mexicans unloading a pick up when one of them saw something in the pit he wanted. He started going into the pit and the old man that sweeps around it started yelling at him telling him he couldn't go into the pit. The other guy went and pushed the old man in the chest and then it was on! Every worker at the place came running including the gal at check in. They put a beat down on those two guy's. Don't mess with the pit workers!

So my understanding is that once you cross the gate with dump stuff it is theirs.. Unless they are unwilling to take it. If it went from his truck to yours no issues. But once it touches the ground/pile it belongs to whomever owns the dump.

I was about to post something like this. Junk wars never crossed my mind.

I did not know people still went to the dump. Anything I put at the end of the driveway magically disappears overnight.
                      Who knew?

Ive always thought it would be cool to let a company buy the rights to go dig up and scavenge through dump sites from the 50's, 60's and 70's, and use that money the comapny paid to improve the area/town after they are done. Can you imagine the cool and very valuable stuff they would find. Would make for a great reality show as well.

Around here, when the landfills get full, they build houses on them.
