    These ones had a beard like a mouflon and more of the reddish-brown color minus the saddle patch. But they were big , 250-ish lbs. They also had horn tips that thinned out considerably compared to a Rocky.


    Really a pretty sheep. I think the original intent was to see if they could create a hardier sheep that wasn't so susceptible to disease.

          This is the mouflon bighorn cross we got from the study. Not sure who they got to cross them down there but they looked a lot like rocky mt bighorns. WG&F and CPW were doing the disease study.

                Agreed, that looks much more like a Rocky Mountain bighorn than the Thompson Temple bighorn. I wonder what the sire and the Dam was And if that makes a difference in appearance. I do know the temple sheep have more mouflon than Bighorn in them.
