? Mule deer hunting in Central Zone ?

The research facility up here that the spouse worked at for a bit had some mouflon- bighorn crosses they were doing a terminal study on. They looked very much like bighorns but our taxi noticed the diff right away. We got a head and cape after the study and had it mounted.

These ones had a beard like a mouflon and more of the reddish-brown color minus the saddle patch. But they were big , 250-ish lbs. They also had horn tips that thinned out considerably compared to a Rocky.


Really a pretty sheep. I think the original intent was to see if they could create a hardier sheep that wasn't so susceptible to disease.

Agreed, that looks much more like a Rocky Mountain bighorn than the Thompson Temple bighorn. I wonder what the sire and the Dam was And if that makes a difference in appearance. I do know the temple sheep have more mouflon than Bighorn in them.
