Pellet grill - Anyone getting a new one?

Long story...but I may be looking for a small pellet grill. I've never used one but they appear to be easy to use. My Uncle had a stoke a while back and I'm trying to get something for him to cook on. He always used his oven but it's broke and his kids have been all talk about getting it fixed (I'm trying to stay out of that crap).

So, if a pellet grill is super easy to use and can cook fish and meats good I'm hoping someone can sell me one for a good price. He doesn't need anything fancy. Figure with the upcoming Holiday weekend I can score a used one. If not maybe some place will have a small one on sale.

Check fb market. There were a ton on there last I looked. People move and not taking them with them etc. even a couple free ones listed.

for the money, buy that man a new oven. I'm sure there are plenty of used ones for cheap and they are much simpler for someone with a disability than a pellet grill that'll need to be constantly refilled, cleaned out, etc. Just my .02

Toaster oven and microwave. Griddle would be great but too much cleanup for 1 person.

This was my thoughts as well. Just glanced, and there are a lot of inexpensive ones for sale on Facebook.

I talked to his daughter about his oven..They claim it's a good oven and don't want a new cheap one. Sure they may be a little crazy LOL

He likes to eat pork shoulder etc. I don't think a griddle would be good for cooking like he does.

I'll look on FB. I know he won't use a regular grill because of having to light charcoal etc. Was hoping a pellet grill was easy to use but as mentioned I've never had one. Just looks like you add pellets, set temp and cook.

Look into the Recteq bullseye, gets hot to cook steaks and smokes a good brisket.

I’ve got a RecTeq and really like it. It’s super easy to use and holds temp well.

Instead of fixing his oven ya can get a large air fryer /oven . I have a big one that I use more than the oven .

I was going to post something along the lines of the "EZ bake oven" being perfect for someone with a stroke deficit and y'all able-bodied folks should be babysitting a stick burner all hours of the night.

Seemed a bit insensitive though. Sorry you're going through this. My grandfather had multiple debilitating strokes before passing and it was very hard on my parents. Best wishes.

The pellet grill is a great option. I haven’t had an oven for probably 11 years. There’s more to that story but we’ll stay on topic. . Use an air fryer toaster oven and pellet grill. I bought pit boss off thf for 200 as a trial. Both my boys have picked ip used ones one off of market place and the other off of thf for less than that. Both had something wrong we fixed. The fb he knew going in. He diagnosed and replaced Control panel and igniter. The other one. Po couldn’t get used to cooking on it. It had a bad thermometer he replaced after the first cook failed. All of them pit boss. I don’t think it really matters the brand.
