Tariffs are getting real

I've never seen so many people just buy stuff without even asking what the price is. Some stores don't even put prices on items anymore.

To make it worse when I ask what something costs they act like your stupid for asking, just buy it.

But inflation is because of tariffs

Sure are a lotta "beat the tarrifs!" sales in my email. People rush out to buy things they didn't need just like you said because they're expecting everything to go up. Also several vendors raising prices on particular items while other vendors literally put them on sale. I just bought an Athlon Rangecraft from one source who gave me a better than published rate after another vendor had raised prices even higher over the previously published rate due to incoming tarrifs. These are all a brand new item that nobody had possession of yet, all units still on the big boat from China so can't use the excuse of old stock/new stock.

Just about all my hunting clothes I bought were on clearance sales. Most were even half off. Unless it’s something I got to have right now, I’ll wait. Good things come to those who wait!!!

Pool chlorine tablets went stupid in covid…why did they never come back down

The chlorine tab factory that burned down during the hurricane in 2021 is back in production so prices should have come down but since demand didn’t change after the price increase, the prices will not likely drop until another supplier comes to market or more people shift to salt water systems.

If it “gets real” then Trump has done his job. We are the most spoiled country on the planet (me included). Our grandparents and parents truly knew what hard times were, even I did as a child and young man. I didn’t know what indoor plumbing was until nearly ten years old. We had cold water in the house, but if you wanted hot water you heated on the stove. I didn’t realize we were poor until I started school, but my mother and father were around for the Great Depression so they knew what getting real was all about, and it ain’t about what clothes cost at Academy.

My grandparents never had a phone or an indoor bathroom. They had a bathroom/shower house separate from their small 600 sq ft shotgun house.

I remember when Dr’s and
lawyers were the only ones living in 2,000 sq ft + houses.
Somehow those have now become “starter homes”!!!
I grew up in an 800 sq ft house with an attic fan. We finally got a window unit in 1983 but only cooled the 14x16 living room.
I really miss an attic fan.

The entire premise of the tariff system he's put into place is to make it not worthwhile to buy **** made overseas and purchase domestic products and to give companies a reason to onshore their operations back into the US. Were you thinking that would just happen overnight? It's going to take time to happen.

The biggest problem I see with bringing manufacturing back to the US is US citizens don't want factory jobs. Their not going to go work in a factory. Trades are desperate for people, and its a career you can make good money at, but there is a significant shortage of people in this country that will get off their *** and complete manual labor for a living. He'll most industries(Healthcare, teachers, truck drivers, pilots and on and on) can't find workers. We are sitting at a 4.2% unemployment rate. We need 100s of thousands of people to go work in factories at reasonable wages to keep the cost of production at a level american people can afford. We don't have the people to fill manufacturing jobs. So what are we going to do? Just bring immigrants in to fill/work these factory jobs.

Secondly, I don't care what political group you have voted for or supported iver the years. The reality is, the American people have voted with their $$ that they are fine with this global economy and doing business with China and other foreign countries. As a consumer we should have spent our $$ with american companies that produce american made goods but weve spent the last 30 years not supporting our own.
