Do you normally tip for tree removal service? If so, how much? Never had this done before and not sure of the etiquette.

Tip for Tree Removal

I own a tree service and feel as though I am very fairly priced. It does cost a lot of money, but running a business that’s only behind Alaska Crab Fishermen in risks according to insurance actuaries is very expensive……and full of extreme risks.
I have received tips from customers but I always give it directly to my crew and have them split it between them.
A tip is a gesture, not a requirement. If you feel as though the service exceeded your expectations and may have even been “entertained” by the work (I can’t tell you how many customers and their kids Love to watch our work, from a safe distance, especially when the chipper starts) give the crew a tip. Heck, most people have no idea how to safely and properly remove or prune trees; if you’re having it done, they may have just saved you a lot more than what they’re charging 👍

I feel the tipping culture is out of hand. Everyone including regular cashiers have a cup out!
that said- some services I think warrant a little. For example annually around Christmas I like to give the trash guys, and lawn guy, and teachers etc gift cards.
I’ve bought pizza for crews doing extended jobs on the house like roofers and tile guys.
for trees… I haven’t before but you got me thinking

I have never tipped a tree crew cash nor have I ever felt pressured to do so. There's been a few times in hot summar months that I purchased a case or two of Topo Chico, gatorade, etc. Frankly, it's never been insinuated that I should tip, not even by a crew chief or owner. In this case, I'm being charged an amount for the specific service and clean up and hauling off is part of the service.
