Is a AGM Rattler V2 a decent scope for 200 yards or less? I know nothing about thermal scopes but got the bug recently.

I benefit from the fact that ATN has a store in Grapevine Mills Mall which is somewhat handy to get to. He purchased a monocular that he was not completely satisfied with and was able to use 100% of the purchase price to upgrade to a second scope. These folks are very easy to get in touch with.
I had a thermal monocular. It quit working. Sent it in for repairs. Got charged a bunch and finally got it back several months later. It worked for about five minutes then quits again. I trashed it and bought a Pulsar.

4 years with an ATN 640 Thor4. No complaints.
Not a $1500 worth of difference ($4k vs $5.6K) in the Pulsar my son has.
Been killing ~20-25 pigs a month for 4 yrs.
Edit: Yes AGM Rattlers are good
The answer depends a lot on how you hunt.
stand, spot-stalk, terrain, distances, etc.
Look closely at and consider battery life
I suggest 640 (but there are some pretty nice 386 units out there) if you can. Like buying a PC. You are behind technology curve as soon as you buy. So buy the best you can.
base mag can be important (field of view when they scatter vs single shot at feeder)
hand held and quick attach
dont overlook the clip-ons that got in front on regular day optics.
dedicated rifle, permanent attachment, vs scan/attach/stalk

Friends don't let friends buy ATN. I've had various XSight generations for 10 years, out of 5 units only one is still working. They all died right after the warranty period ended and ATN offered $50 bucks off a new unit. How about sell a product that lasts longer than 2 years? No thanks, I'll pass on ATN forever. Glen, I have no experience with the AGM but have heard great things from people that own them. Just don't be tempted by anything ATN.
