My home is 10 minutes away from that stretch of I-35.

Avoid it at all costs with the exception of 10am to 2pm.

Construction closures overnight and traffic during the day is painful to deal with.

I drive it every weekday from Cibolo across to Port San Antonio. I just watch Fox News Channel 29 for the traffic report and adjust my schedule accordingly. Most mornings I leave between 0600-0630 and its okay with the biggest slowdown between FM 1518 and 1604. When I would leave before 0600, it was a crap shoot on whether the construction lane closures have cleared. For big delays on I-35, I would cut down FM 78 to 1604 to I-10.

I am driving from the sea world area to NB and back next Friday and Saturday. I appreciate you guys comments. I think I will just go south to I10 and go to Seguin and go up to NB.

I will look at Waze first and if it is only an extra 10 miles or so out of the way then I will go I10.

Construction and traffic on I10 east is sometimes just as bad as 35

Good call. I10 East from 410 all the way to Seguin is practically a construction zone and tight quarters down to two lanes.

I was hoping they had that finished. You are right, if it is still tight two lanes where you cant get off if there is a wreck then i wont be going that way. maybe i will go north up 281 and back down to NB. Or maybe i will just get a hotel in SA. ;-)

I drive to work every day from home in San Antonio to the north side of New Braunfels.

                  Then back home.

Some days it’s 48 minutes. Some days much longer. Worst was one morning, it took 2 hours to get to work.

Now, I check Waze twice a day. If needed, I’ll take 281 north to Bulverde and cut over on 1863.

But you never know when a wreck is going to happen and create a cluster F.

I drove that yesterday. It is much better now than it was a year ago.
