    RV Couch

Ours (2017) has delaminated and makes a huge mess. Hate the $$ but need to replace it. Are any brands/retailers better than another? Any to avoid? Big $ purchase to make online sight unseen.

I laughed when our camper came with a heated massaging recliner/sofa, with cup holders....buuuut I sure didn't mind it when I woke up sick on a camping trip!

I can't remember the brand, but it's a reputable furniture mfg. I'll try to find it...

Ha! I agree Dale. Wife and daughter likely won’t let me give up the heated seats which I’ve been known to use after a few hours in a deer blind. Appreciate it.

Thomas Payne is the mfg I was trying to think of. I can't really speak to longevity as our camper is only two years old, but it seems better made than a lot of the stuff they put in them.

I ended up buying some covers for my couches off Amazon and it helps keep the mess down. Cheap solution until i decide to pony up some money to replace. Don't be afraid to use non-RV furniture either. I gutted an old camper several years ago and went back in with an Ikea couch that fit perfectly in the spot where the jak-knife couch was.

Thomas Payne is hit or miss though ours has been solid for almost 5 years including living in ours for 300 days while building a house. Recpro is supposed to have good stuff. Many folks choose to buy household furniture for both quality and price.

I used the bristle brush adapter on my shopvac to sluff off all of the laminate stuff on mine, then put a slip cover over it and that has worked very well.

I removed the couch/bed and the dining table and put in futon large bean bag with tv trays...much more room.

Swapping out an RV couch is surprisingly doable, but space is everything. I replaced mine with a jackknife-style sleeper that fit just right—took some measuring and a few adjustments to bolt it in, but way more comfortable now. If you’re handy, you can even convert a loveseat from a regular furniture store to fit. Just check the weight and width before committing. Some little instruments i ordered on amazon canada, it was enough, no need any pro equipment for that.

The lease camper I’m renovating has same issue the had a cheap slip cover on it. Looked horrible. Got new cover. Looks better… till keep looking for upgrade.

it’s a jack knife so space is limited… I don’t care if it makes a bed.

Facebook marketplace sometimes has tear outs and fun town rv in Mineola has some good deals on over stocked if they fit…. They just don’t fit my situation

I replaced our jackknife couch with a dual recliner “wall hugger” with console with heat and phone chargers. Way better than what was in there.

I normally don’t shop at Camping World after hearing so many horrible things that friends say about their service on campers that they sell, but I went in there (to he Tyler store) one day and they had several nice looking couches in stock. Bought one to replace one in my deer lease camper. It’s still working great.
