What killed this deer ?

Wifey spotted buzzards this morning and found this dead deer in the pasture.
I am a bit concerned about the missing ribs and marks on the neck.

Looks like massive trauma and blood loss.

In all seriousness, who knows? Likely hit by a car and got finished off by yotes and buzzards.

Up tight against the jaw like that is where a can't likes to clamp down like that but there's things missing that will normally be present with a cat kill. Most likely coyote, dogs and the buzzards.

I found two like that last year at this same time. There are no roads around me. My neighbor was spraying some serious poison across into my land. I assume it killed the deer.

There are a million and one ways to die. Disease, starvation, injury, could be anything literally.

As in herbicide or insecticide??? If that is the case he was sooooo far off label he will probably be dead also.
