ID:	27110370 Can any of you wildflower super sleuths identify this plant? They are starting to show up in our front 1/4 acre. Any help will be appreciated. Pretty cool little plants.

sensitive briar, among other names. We get it in south texas as it does well in rocky, sandy soil. We're fostering a horse that ignores hand fed veggies while eating the pink tips off of these instead.

Softly rub your fingers over the leaves and watch them close down. Amazing.

Yes they're neat for sure. I've got a small mesquite sapling in a pot that i noticed similarly closes its leaves every night. Never knew...

Pretty cool plants look like something off the Avatar movie. I tried digging one up at the ranch last year and transplanting it at my house for my daughter to play with but it didn't make it. Might try again at some point.

Yep, they're kinda like a venus fly trap in how the leaves close up when you touch them. I've seen the same or very similar plant in the Virgin Islands as well.
