That's pretty cool. Hopefully add a few more hunters to our roster.

That’s cool, I suppose. Typically I feel TPWD doesn’t do a very good job with their WMA properties. Especially in comparison to Oklahoma. Although license fees and new laws may be changing my thought process with Oklahoma.

Not much info in article. Best I can tell it’s south east of Houston???

bo mention about hunting opportunities. It is TPWD…. So I’m sure it will be a train wreck for the public…. Unless your looking for 4 toed butterflies

The property, comprising approximately 6,900 acres in Anderson County, will become the Trinity River Wildlife Management Area.

Trinity River WMA is the newest addition to the Middle Trinity River Ecosystem Project, which includes Gus Engeling, Richland Creek, Big Lake Bottom and Keechi Creek WMAs.

I hunt out of state public because Texas is an absolute joke. Other states are so swamped they have increased price a bunch and people ain’t batted an eye. They use the funds to better the habitat instead of painting the yellow and brown signs and allowing the forest to become a mature monoculture of shade Then letting population of everything get out of wack -/+ and limit opportunities

this will be no different is my fear

I don’t even have to look and know exactly where you’re talking about. Lol

6900 acres, should be good for at least 1 weekend draw hunt of 4 to 5 hunters with a one in a gazillion odds of getting drawn.

I wish the state would purchase more large tracts of land when the opportunity presents itself

This is a great property west of Palestine. It floods often but has big deer when it's not flooded. Acess will be difficult unless they improve it. Duck and cat squirrel heaven. Oh... and 2.965,799 hogs

I had no idea what that meant until I pulled it up on OnX
