Forrest Galante, the definitive wildlife expert, weighed in on the subject. Says the silverback is a beast capable of lifting 2000lbs with bite strength of 1300 psi. BUT that they are "sprinters." That they crash and crash hard after physical exertion. He says the first 30-40 guys would be dead quick but that after that, would be a matter of the remaining guys simply choking it out.

My money is on the 100 men!

I guess if you can find 30-40 huge idiots that really think they are stronger than the last guy the gorilla just killed without trying...and all 40 line up to die the men can win.

In a cage, no. The gorilla can sit on his butt and just tear people apart as they come within reach. In a big field or open space, just get him running away from the crowd, and then keep him running until he drops. Same way three or four wolves can kill a bull moose or elk with a head full of daggers. Cardio will find the bottom of your endurance real quick. I’m fat and out of shape, a gorilla would smoke me in a 100-yard sprint, but I guarantee my 5k would be faster.

With no weapons of any kind? Only so many guys are gonna be able to take it on at one time and there ain't no punches or kicks that's gonna hurt a gorilla. Realistically the only way you're gonna put that thing out of commission is choke it out. If it's backed into a corner, good luck with that.

That's another thing those 100 guys would have to figure out.

It could probably be done but I personally know someone that killed two chimpanzees. One when it was running at him and he dang near unloaded a .357 Sig into it. One shot to the body, the rest to the head and it dropped feet away from him. The one that hit it in the chest just made it mad. I believe he shot it 11 times to kill it if I remember right. The other one took two rounds of .223 to the head. That's chimpanzees I'm talking about vs. one guy with a gun. If he hadn't of had that gun he'd be severely disfigured today, at the very least.

I know this much, I'd rather be at the back of the line if I had to be one of the 100 fighting that thing and I'd hope it wasn't catching many breaks in between ripping people's heads off and whatnot so it's nice and tired when I get there. That way I'd only get my arm ripped off or hopefully just my fingers bit off or somethin. I think it'd take several people to take on a chimpanzee and they ain't got nowhere near as much strength as a gorilla. And I still saw one of those that got shot spit 30 dang feet and shake the hell out of metal bars. I wouldn't wanna fool with one.

A hundred men approach one gorilla, and gorilla will retreat. Regardless the intellect of a 100 men concurs 1 gorilla, the men will not fight far, and well weaponize whatever resources they can find. Humans have higher longer term endurance then the gorilla, they could literally run it to death, or push to a point that it levels the strength field with fatigue

Have 75 men dig a big hole. Then have the other 25 corral the ape into the hole, fill the hole with pee gravel incase any other apes are in the area.
