My entire life I've called it snake spit. In fact I think my grandma told me that so I would be careful picking berries. What is it really?

Well my pic won't upload. Its white foam on the stem of a weed or grass.

I remember hearing it called that, but it’s actually probably the spittle bug young making a protective bubble case around themselves.
It’s harmless to you and the plants.

I don't care what Google say, that is Snake Spit and it comes from Snakes as far as I'm concerned.

Yep it was snake spit all my life! Now it is snake spit with little bugs in it.........that works for me!!!
