So the Old Bar C ranch was my deer lease 25 years ago. I had 8K of the 14K leased. There was another 14K of the Bar C that was family only. Where the Bar C Ranch Airport is was my camp site till we moved to the old ranch house. Stayed there till they sold it all off. Best lease I had when the anthrax was not killing the deer off. We killed quite a few Texas Big Game award bucks off that place

We hunt the ranch west of the bar c and have for the last 35 years. We’ve taken some nice deer but would love a high fence between us and the old circle c. We have enough property we feed away from the fence line. I know the tracts next to us do not have water and I haven’t seen or heard any action in the last few years.

Also talk to a biologist about the numbers. The density fluctuates and I’m sure a lot of the tracts are over hunted. I was talking to a guy at country boys feed in Rocksprings about 8 years ago and he had 2 tracts that 4 guys split when they purchased. That’s a lot of hunters on 200 acres in Edwards/Val Verde.
when the first neighbor we had bought one of the tracts next to us he didn’t have water. Probably still doesn’t but went to our ranchers house and asked him if he could tie into his tank or water lines. It’s was funny listening to our rancher tell the story. The guy was told if he was caught back on the property he would be shot. He had his ranch hands ride the fence lines daily to make sure. They still check that fence line periodically.
