Name this grass/weed

Another name this grass/weed thread. This has popped up in my Bermuda pasture in the last year. I used pre emerge but didn’t seem to phase it any.

Looks like some sort of bluestem variety.

KR Bluestem. Nothing labeled to kill it other than glyphosate. Nothing unlabeled works either. Whoever comes up with the chemical to control it in the hay patch is gonna be well liked.

Not labeled for hay fields, but i think msma will knock that KR back and not hurt bermuda.

Yep this is correct. Can’t tell
you how much I hate this stuff. MSMA will brown the leaves but probably not gonna do too much. Seed heads are hard to control unless mowed often

Seed head doesn’t look right for KR. I think it’s a dropseed but hard to tell based on that pic.

Hmm. I think I’ll try roundup on it here in about a week. Luckily the patches aren’t large.
when I put out pre emerge I mixed in some roundup but a light dose, as you can see it didn’t do much. I’ll have to mix it stronger.

Looks kinda like side oats grama, hard to tell from the picture. Its not KR bluestem though.
Me personally, Id keep it, if its side oats. MSMA will get rid of it though

Best luck we had was 1-2 days after cutting hay it would be green and ahead of everything. Spray with gly while Bermuda was cut off and brown. Will set back some but not kill Bermuda. It took some time. I believe they called it “face-y” not sure on spelling.

we sprayed everything at it. The 2 days after cutting old gly trick worked the best
