    Prostate Cancer Update

Surgery to remove cancerous prostate February 26 went well. As earlier posted I chose to go to MD Anderson
, Houston as opposed to my local physician in Corpus. As of last Friday I’m up and moving and mobile after removing the catheter myself. So now is the long journey to recovery. I received the results of the pathology report and it appears all cancer was contained to prostate region and except for some tissue that was part of nerve sparing procedure, all of the cancer was removed. So I’m healing and accept for a little inconvenience with bladder issues, I’m doing great. Thanks to everyone here that offered prayers and support. So my message is “ guys have your check ups regularly “ .

Good news! Did they find it through blood tests or manually?

Wow, this is great news and hopefully foreshadows a long future without cancer.

My eyes teared up at your comment about removing the catheter. It’s not all that painful but it is a very weird feeling and, upon removal, it tends to trigger some nerve that makes your eyes water.

Who knew your eyes were connected to your…wick?

Great news Mike! You're tough as a boot. Any man who still surfs after age 75 is an inspiration in my book. It will take more than prostate cancer to stop you!
