We use to slide down the dam at Barker’s reservoir and swim there. You could stand on those concrete pieces sticking up and catch a mess of crappie with a cane pole and a crappie jig. There was nothing out there on Hwy 6. Duck and goose hunting was free if you knew a rice farmer. They would let you shoot all you want.
