    Any Numismatists on Here?

My grandfather was a hobbyist coin collector. I have many memories of him spending his days out in the West Texas countryside with his metal detector looking for...treasures and what nots. As a result, I have three 3-ring binders full of unique coins he found as well as several ice cream buckets of coins placed in them by denomination.

Is there anyone who can advise me on best to determine what I have, whether there any coins of significant value or a bunch of coins worth no more than their face value?

Sounds like a problem. We'll, I'm here to help. Bring it all to Nanza. And I'll give you $2.00, and take that problem off your hands. 😁

Any Silver coins Pre-1964 are much more valuable than the Face Value/

Melt Values of U.S. Silver Coins
              Washington Quarter (1932-1964) 90% Silver $5.92
              Barber Half Dollar (1892-1915) 90% Silver $11.83
Walking Liberty Half Dollar (1916-1947) 90% Silver $11.83
              Franklin Half Dollar (1948-1963) 90% Silver $11.83
              Kennedy Half Dollar 1964 90% Silver $11.83
              Roosevelt Dime (1946-1964) 90% Silver $2.36

Maybe worth more as Collectables depending on Year, condition and the Mint.

I just bought some coins from the antique shop on my lunch break and they use ebay to determine what they have and current value. Thats what I use for my coin collections as well to see if any are gaining in value. There is probably a coin app out there though that might be better.

                Post up some picture!!

I'm in the same boat as you. We've inherited about a 40lb tote full of coins. I've got American coins that I didn't even know existed...two cent, half cent, and three cent. If you find a great resource I'd love to know.

This is where I checked Alecia's collection.

Coin values never stand still. Using a step by step method finds how much your coins are worth. Popular series and scarce dates are identified. Mintmarks are highlighted and located. Subtle differences in condition are graded to narrow range on value charts. Discover the value in your box of old coins.

                              Whatever you do,

                              DON’T CLEAN YOUR. COINS!

They WILL lose value if you do.
