    A Yolink story

We have a Tappan upright freezer bought in 1997 from Montgomery Ward in Manor East Mall, Bryan TX at their closing-the-doors sale. The freezer has been in a garage environment since moving from our place at North Zulch in 2011. It has been a good one. I bought a Yolink hub and monitor when we moved into our house in June 2023 due to the freezer being in the shop. It sent email alerts last night beginning at 9:15 so we went and brought the contents in and put it in the two freezers in our house refrigerators. Glad we were at home instead of next week when we will be camping in Matagorda.

The Yolink has been consistent with alerts when the temperature inside that freezer went above a set max. I highly recommend this inexpensive device for anyone with a large amount in a freezer. I am going to blow the bottom of the freezer out real good after it defrosts and make sure it is dead. If so, I have my sausage smoker for next season. 28 years keeping things frozen and now will bring the heat.

Amazon has all kinds of gadgets related to yolink. Looks like you have to purchase the hub also from reading the reviews. They are priced reasonably.

I purchased the Yolink hub and 2 wireless sensors for my garage freezers. They work well and so far have not had any issues.

My hub completely quit working - no connection at all.

Update on the freezer. I think the breaker is bad on that circuit. I tried other items in the outlet and nothing worked. It is a dedicated circuit. I plugged it into another outlet, and it kicked on. We will see.

Sorry to hear that, Kevin. Mine has gone offline and it isn't the easiest to get reconnected but always does.

I got the YoLinks based on several threads and recommendations on TBH 2+ years ago. They have been great so far.

Mine has gone offline due to wifi failure or electricity being off but it has always reset itself and gone on monitoring

I have been using the YoLink freezer alarms for several years, and just picked up a third sensor for a new freezer. It was super simple to add it to the app, and I like being able to check the status of all my freezers at a glance. The alerts are great, and you can set the parameters for each sensor in the app. They work great! Just replace batteries in the sensors as needed. The hub is in my house, with all my sensors in freezers in a detached metal garage. No connectivity issues, and great peace of mind.

I knew Smart used them and glad to see they have worked well for others.

The good news is, the 28-year-old Tappan is still alive. The bad news is, that I need to figure out why the dedicated circuit outlet quit working and I will have to build a makeshift smoker next season.

I too use the Yolink temp sensors in freezers, and they have saved me. I also use the water sensors in places where we might get a leak, like at a water heater, and motion sensors in places where people shouldn't be, like a storage shed.

I have one at the ranch for both inside and outside freezers

the inside regualar fridge freezer every now and then pops a alert

about once a month it will say temp is up to 28 degrees and humidity is 65 degrees

ithe Fridge ihits the same temp then it goes back down to normal

                          it is a great monitor
