Ranch Camper Water setup Question - Two parter

Recently purchased an older camper for a deer lease and am trying to rig a tote to serve as the water source for it.

First picture shows what I believe is the water intake hose (green hose).

Second Picture shows the tote that will serve as the water source for the camper.

For what ever reason when I turn the pump on inside of the camper I cant get the camper to intake water.

To compound things, the door shown in the first picture right above the green hose is locked and I dont have a key to access it. I suspect there is something behind that door that I need to turn on? Any ideas? Should I force my way into that door, try and get a locksmith out there?

is the pump primed? is the suction full of water and coming out the discharge, vented out any air pockets.

fill the water tote up to the top to get more head pressure. gain access into that compartment and see if there's a bleed you can open on the discharge to let all the air out until you get a good solid stream of water then fire it back up

you can drill that lock out and replace it with one off ebay for a few bucks they're cheap. or see if you can read any letters and numbers of the lock and then do a google search for that key. lots of campers use a CH751 key

I had a similar setup and couldn’t get water inside. My trailer had a check valve that needed about ten pounds of pressure to let water pass through.I pulled out the check valve and water, from the tote passed through and went inside with no problems.I did have my tote a little higher I think the bottom was about 5 feet above the ground..

This right here. That camper probably had a potable tank in it and that check is in the line so that the camper pump could take suction from the onboard tank. It may or may not still be there. That compartment should give you access to the plumbing. If you don't plan to use any onboard tank, just take all the other plumbing branches out and run a line from that inlet piping straight to your pump.

If you want to do it easy, get you a pump and connect it at the tote and pipe it into the inlet where the green hose is. It will overcome the check pressure and give you water too.

One "Pro Tip"... That little hatch cover to the left where the electrical wire is supposed to come out that has the small access hole for the wire should be covered. Mine had the same port and the honey bees found it and moved in and made themselves right at home... I'd get me a can of foam and plug that sucker quick!

Edit to add: I noticed also that you have a septic line hooked to the camper and both the gray and black water tank valves are open... Over the years, we have found that if we kept the valves closed until a reasonable amount of fluid is in the tank, then opened them, they would drain and clean themselves out a lot better. Also make that old black flex line short as possible and cover it so the sun doesn't get to it. They are NOT UV stable and will deteriorate in a couple years or less!
        Good luck!

I got a 110v RV water pump and put it online between the tote and the city water intake on the camper.

Also, I've never seen the water intake sticking out the bottom like that; they are idiom the side of the camper. Note that campers have 2 water intakes; one for city water under pressure, and a second to fill the fresh water holding tank. Make sure you have your hose connected to the correct intake.

First, pump in the camper pumps water from the camper holding tank and had nothing to do with pulling water from outside into the camper holding tank.

second, get that door open. Most older campers I have seen had 2 water fill. One for the tank and one for pressure "city water"

It looks like your connected to the city water line which means you will need pressure. You can put an RV on demand pump between tote and camper. This will provide the pressure and you will not use the camper pump.

Other option is to figure out how to fill the camper tank from the tote. Either there is another tank fill somewhere or there is a valve to switch from city water to tank fill. Most older campers I have seen have a place you just stick a hose in to fill. If you figure this out you will use the camper pump to provide pressure.

You need to get that compartment door open to figure out the plumbing. Most of those campers have universal keys. Check with a rv dealer.
You may be hooked up to the tank drain line. It usually comes out of the bottom floor like the one the hose is hooked to. Probably a drain valve inside the compartment.
Get a white “potable water” hose. You’ll be smelling plastic in the water using that green garden hose.

With the vents in that door I'm gonna guess the water heater is in that compartment.

As said earlier, a CH751 key will open the door. They can be bought at any RV store or ordered from Amazon.

internal water pump is for pumping water out of the tank. Your tank is dry so you have nothing to pump to the faucets. There are 2 ways to fix this. You can either pump water into the tank then use the internal pump. Or you need to get an on demand pump and hook it up like you have it. You have the water hooked to the city water incoming line. So you need to pump it in the trailer. That is the on demand pump.

I have a transfer pump. I pump water from a tank into my trailer holding tank then use the internal pump to supply water to the trailer.

I had an on demand pump that I hooked the water to my city water connection. But it died and the transfer pump was laying around.
