I have the Nippers with 2.5 reader lenses. So far so good, really like them, took a little adjustment to the readers, more like bi-focal lenses. Really happy with them and not having to tote around readers for knots, backlashes, etc is really nice. Highly recommend.

What color lens? I'm looking at the green, blues are always to dark for my eyes

What are you using them for? I primarily bay fish, green mirror is perfect.

I switched from Costa's to Amazon cheapos. No big deal if I lose them and I can buy new styles on a whim for $20. The lense clarity is no different than high dollar glasses.

I've got several cheapos.....fine for ranch work or safety glasses......but lens clarity is just not there. Kast King readers are the best cheapo's Ive found

im the same way. i cant bear the thought of breaking or losing $250 pair of sunglasses and wear mostly cheap ones. but the clarity of the green mirror glass lenses while on the water is way different that my grinder punch fake wayfarers.

when Costa sold to Luxotica several of the main people did not want (or we not offered) positions with the new company. and they took the information they knew about sunglasses manufacturing and marketing and created Biajo. i have several pair of Costa Tuna Alley with the glass lenses and i really like them but i spend a lot more time wearing Grinder Punch Sunglasses because they are 1/20 the cost of the Costas. My wife has a pair of Biajo and they are really nice and she likes them. if i buy another pair of high $ sunglasses it will be Biajo mainly because i have a buddy here that sells them and thats where my wife got her's
Correct. The new company is named after the OGs of Costas boat

They are good glasses. I bought a couple pairs of them and I like them. The frames seem to be good quality and the lenses are as good as Costa and Smith. My only issue with them is I have had one pair that the lenses are delaminating. The coatings are I guess, it looks like bubbles forming all around the edges. I have not called them about it, I need to and I am sure they will take care of them.

I have used Smiths for years and I still really like Smiths. I have no complaints.

In Smiths I use the Guide's Choice frame and I like their bronze mirror chromapop + and green mirror chromapop+ glass lenses the best. Green mirrors are most popular but I actually think I like their bronze lenses better. In the Bajios I got the Vega frames and they fit almost identical to the Smith Guide's Choice. I got green mirrored and rose mirrored glass lenses. The green mirrors are good all around lenses and the rose lenses I got for cloudy or foggy days. They work well for that but also do ok on sunny days too. They just aren't very dark.

The other downside on pretty much all of them as mentioned above is the finish on the frames usually end up bubbling up and peeling off if you wear them with sunscreen and insect repellant frequently. I don't even care anymore. it's just a fact of life. I often scrape the loose bubbled up stuff off with my fingernail and keep on keeping on. Mine are for fishing and see tons of use so I don't care nearly so much about how they look as how they perform.

I had some made at Klein Eye CAre (or something like that). $420.... After a year, the rubber peeled off the nose and earpiece - a common, acknowledged flaw. Costa wouldnt warranty them because they didn't put the glass in.

I've moved to Smith and then the Bajio Nippers after a trip with Mexican Gulf out of Venice. The dudes were all sporting them and swore by them. Been happy since.

Thanks, it wasn't a true 50% off but I ended up with a pair for around $500...I had a basically unused frame I wanted to send them, but that was the whole kicker. The frame you 'had' to buy was most of the discount, not the lenses best I can tell. You only had two color choices on the Brines.

Gotta admit I expected the worse from the service rumors, but it was a pleasant purchase...said Rx's can take 3 weeks & I received them shipped from frick'n Italy in 7-8 days & shipping was free.

I had to go in for a DL renew back in nov & BARELY passed the visual sans glass...nice to see. Getting old kinda stinks. I now need granny's for reading, a set for the PC & the distance. Not ready to dive into the transitions.

My son tried Bajio's but went back to Smiths, we sight fish a lot and he prefers the Smith's for that over Costa and Bajio. I'm a prescription guy, have Costas and Smith's and really pleased but I think I'll try Bajio's this year when I renew my prescription, founder was a longtime Costa exec and seems to be a good dude.
