Ah man. The Buna location is on the list. Will have to hit Lumberton on way to lease for now on. Love getting my kid treats to/from lease.

As long as they don't mess with the one in McGregor.

There was a big meth bust at our DQ about a year ago. They called it Operation Blizzard.

I’ve gotten to where I hardly ever go to DQ, anymore. Just a complete “fast food crapshoot”. I don’t k ow if it’ll be a 5 minute wait, or a 30 minute wait. Never sure if the food will be decent, or horrible. The whole point of “franchises”, is for some sort of standardization on process, and quality.

Braum’s has been renovating a lot of their stores, lately. I’d rather patronize a family-owned outfit from Oklahoma (Braum’s), than an unpredictable joint owned by Warren Buffett/Berkshire Hathaway (DQ)….

Thankfully the ones in Caldwell, Rockdale and Cameron will still be running. Their tacos are hard to beat. Fast service ,too.

FWIW, not all DQ's are owned by Berkshire Hathaway, only the modern city ones.

DQ was good back in the sixties. Then, competition arrived and I only ate at DQ if there wasn't another choice. I suppose that being lactose intolerant didn't help. There was something special about a chocolate malt and a hamburger with too much mustard on it. Oh well, some chicken finger or Mexican food joint will fill the voids.

The Richeson Group, based in Graham, Tx, owns about 60 DQ’s There’s been one in Olney since I was a kid. Made lots of trips to that one over my lifetime. It has been good, and it has been not so good, depending mostly on the employees that were working at the time. Jalito Ranch burger is pretty bueno.

The north oak {not the one on hwy 180) Dairy Queen in Mineral Wells has been family run for decades and has as good of a burger and home made union rings as I’ve ever had. Note,, meat is thin so I get a double meat. I’m not sure if the DQ in aspermont is operational, but a hazmat suit should be required to enter the premises!

The DQ in Nacogdoches has closed. Worst food in town. Steak fingers were a greasy mess. The Freddies here makes the best burgers, so no huge loss. But I do hate see a business go under.
