    Shipping Venison

I want to ship some venison to a friend. Do you just put it in a carboard box with some dry ice and send it or so you just wrap it up and send it on? It will be sent over night from Houston to Belle Chase LA

Smaller packages multi-wrapped in newspaper and packed in box. It's will still be frozen when it gets there.

What he said^^^^^, or pack in a small ice chest. I would also make sure the meat is vacuum sealed. If it does thaw (because of a delay in shipping or other reasons) and leaks, the shipper will chunk it.

I don't think it's legal to ship with dry ice???

I packed red deer backstrap in a cooler surrounded by clothes from New Zealand to Texas and it was still frozen after 30hrs on planes.

If you can get ahold of the box and cooler Omaha Steaks is shipped in would be best. Pack some gel ice packs and overnight it.

Ive had deer capes sent to me that were just wrapped in a plastic bag, in a cardboard box lined with that purple 1/2" foam board. They were still frozen 2 days later.
