U-Built-it and Owner Builder Network

The wife and I are considering building a home in the DFW area late this summer or early fall.

We haven't bought a lot yet, but have considered building our own home.

Does anyone have experience with the U-Built-It or Owner Builder Network?

nope. From a building inspector, please be careful if you are gona go at it "yourself". for some reason owner/builders with little or no experience seem to always get the shaft. some (not all) contractors prey on the lack of experience and end up with a hefty pay check at the end. take bids and DO YOUR HOMEWORK on subs. contact your local building inspectors and ask them for their opinions on subs you may be using. we cant say anything bad about contractors but we can steer you away from the crooks.
