    How to Attract Hogs

I know I'm going to get some flack for this, but here goes....

I recently got on a small acreage lease in Hardin that adjoins the Trinity River wildlife refuge. Lease is 100 acres. Me and 2 others from work are sharing the workload and is setup strictly as a hog lease and a place to do some plinking and just hang out on the weekend close to Houston where we all live. We got feeders set up with corn and I put down some "hog attractant" but haven't seen anything for 2 weeks on camera, not even a raccoon.

What can I do to get the pigs showing up so I can put some pork in the freezer?

Lack of pressure and keep feeding. You will have more than you wish for.

So just keep feeding and have patience. 10-4. I got the feeder going three times a day for 3 seconds each.

Try twice a day at 6 seconds each.

And as the others said, they will find it.

Pretend like you are feeding deer. The hogs will appear magically!! Guaranteed!

Consistent corn. Dont waste your money on “attractants!”

Get a 5 gallon bucket. (Or larger if you have room) corn, apple juice, and a yeast packet. Plenty of sunshine on the bucket to cook. Let it ferment like you are going to make Corn liquor. Then ferment some more. They love the rank smell. Dump a trail out. They will dig a 9 foot hole trying to eat every last bit.

Save about a 1lbs of your mixture. Catfish love it as a chum.

When I trap them, I soak a closed five gallon bucket of wheat seed. Left in the sun, within a couple of weeks it stinks so bad you pray you don’t get it on you. Hogs can smell it a mile away. They will come.

Out HEB has MUMS apple scented corn for 8$ for 50lbs. I took it to our lease not far from you and the pigs went kind of crazy for it. They eat regular corn but would stay around a lot longer.

Also I got a buddy that I am sure he is not far from you either. His place is actually on the river. His family has been on that place for 52 years and this past summer he had a horrible flood when the river rose. No deer activity and very few hogs seen since. He said it will
                            come back but takes time.

Pray they don’t come and they will come!
