    SMTP Service

Is there a good (free) SMTP server/service out there I can use to send emails from a pop3? I'm using a gmail smtp but it uses that account as the reply email and if someone replies, it goes to the wrong slot!

    Thanks.

you should just get a domain name and park it at hostdime.com to use for email hosting and it would only run you about $6 a month....it only costs me about $12 or so a month for unlimited domains and emails....I have quite a few domains....

outside of that, don't hit me:

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

Fully capable of using google, and have. However, I'm not capable of wading through a bazillion results to figure out if any of them are "good" as I mentioned in my post. Hoping to short-circuit the process by asking someone here if they've found anything.

Hoping someone has solved the problem in a "free" fashion. Just want my kids to be able to send emails from a pop3 without it putting my or my wife's gmail as the reply address.

if you use outlook, I don't think there is anything stopping you from opening multiple email accounts within one outlook instance, just have to select which account you want to send from....personally I think the easiest would be multiple gmail accounts and you could utilize different browsers...one in firefox, one in ie, one in chrome, one in opera...basically separate for everyone.

you could also utilize virtualbox with each of them having their own 'virtual computer', they start their box inside and all their own bookmarks and whatnot, gmail right there...only takes a few seconds to launch each one....

We used an old iphone hooked to wifi to give to our 6 year old since we wouldn't get any money out of it...she emails granny every once in a while, sending pictures, etc

The POP3s are already in use. They've been using them from their mother's computer. I am trying to get them on their ipod and kindle fire, but using a gmail smtp, which works anywhere, puts that gmail smtp account in the reply email and messes up everything. I need an smtp that will work outside of our ISP and not drop a reply email in that is not relevant, which is what gmail does.
