Suggestions on Mule deer in WY

I'm trying to decide if I cash in my points in WY for mule deer.
I have 5 points and have a chance to draw most of the region tags (other than G) and several of the limited draws.
Looking for some general suggestions from folks familiar with WY. I'm interested in getting a mature buck, a nice 8 point will be great.
    Anybody familiar with unit 165?
I try sending emails to outfitters (5 or so) and didn't get a single reply back, so maybe I will just self guide.

I have a buddy that his family runs an outfitting business near Jackson in Region H. They shoot some studs out of the backcountry and have had several clear 200". Their prices are very competitive from what I have seen. Their business is called Hidden Basin Outfitters.

Numbers are down but we still have some good bucks to be had.
Most outfitters are trying to get their elk hunters nailed down right now with the app deadline being end of Jan for elk.
You may get some answers back in Feb. or so.

That area may be good for you but you'll have other folks on public to deal with. Pretty good harvest report but I wonder of most come from private ground. The harvest report for 2024 is not out yet though.

Unfortunately I don't see mule deer numbers going up any time soon so go for it I would say.
Good WTs up that way, food for thought.

Thanks. I’ll reach out to the outfitters again in February. I’m also getting ready for elk, but still need 2 or 3 years to draw

Let me know if you don't get a reply. My buddy is down in Texas rodeoing as a professional bull fighter so I can get him to get in touch with his uncle (the owner of the outfitting business) if needed.

Following. I have 6 points for mulies and have been thinking about cashing.

probably will just end up snagging another preference point but we shall see.
