I have had to replace the pistons on my can am glass wind shield twice in two yrs. Seems everytime there is a real cold spell they loose their pressure. I got some from a dealer and then order the last set online. Is there any truly HD pistons that wont fail?

The canam we had at the ranch I worked at went thru pistons fast. I think the windshield is just too heavy for those pistons. When new, they would hold the windshield up great. Then after just a year or two, we had to clamp vise grips on the keep the windshield open.

I used to have to replace the ones on my rod lockers on my Skeeter. It's a lot easier than it seems and isn't that expensive. I used to get them from https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/.

I've always thought that was a poor design for those windshields. I didn't think that they were built to ride in the up position. Anytime that I've left mine up on my camper top while driving down the road, they lose the ability to go all the way up.
But as stated earlier, they are very easy to change. Just sucks to buy them so often.
