Now is the time to prevent Sandburs!

Now is the time to put out sand bur pre-emergent. If you have pastures, use Rezilon. If you need to treat your yard, go to your local nursery and request the best pre-emergent on the market.

Oh, unless you are south of I10. Then it is probably a little late.

I’m reading early March for the DFW area, am I misinformed? And, I only have 2.5 acres, any suggestions besides Rezilon? It seems to only come in quart size and I’d need much less (I think).

I added a calendar reminder on my phone this year. My property south of Abilene I put it out first of March last year and was too late. I’m putting out this weekend

Rezilon works very well. Save the leftovers for next year.

Rezilon also has a 6 month residual, so you can't put it out too early because it is only a pre-emergent. But you sure can put it out too late. When soil temps are 72 degrees, sandburs germinate. Get your per-emergent out before that happens, generally 2-3 weeks before that happens.

I’m seeing $365 a quart. How much acreage does it cover. I’ve got a very small patch I’d like to kill but don’t want to kill them bad enough to buy a quart.

                  10 acres in that bottle.
I’m in north Texas, going to hit mine next week.

Thanks for the reminder. I spent many hours with a weed burner this past summer and fall burning all the pesky suckers

Will this product harm wild flowers?

$365 for 10 acres?? That don’t sound right.

I have less than an acre. I just get a pre-emergent at Lowe's, but yes, it's time. I'm going to try to do it this weekend, after the rain.

If you have them as bad as I do in one pasture it sounds right.
And putting in the sweat equity in addition to buying chemicals adds to the headache controlling grass burrs.

I hate sand burrs. They can live under the soil forever !!!!
