    Floating dock walkway help

I just acquired a 20 foot pontoon boat I am wanting to make into a floating dock for a pond at our farm. has anyone ever done this?. How would you Brainiac's go about making a walkway out to the floating dock so its 10' off the bank>?

I built a floating dock at my in-laws property and used plastic, 55-gallon drums sealed with marine adhesive on the threads for each plug. Built the floating dock so the barrels fit just inside the frame of each 2x10x20 treated lumber and spaced them about 5 feet apart for the walkway. I made theirs with wheels on each side of the portion that rested on land so it could move in and out depending on the level of their pond.

I made one with 6 floating barrels and utility poles. Poles set on bank and floated up and down with water level.

Sounds good. The pond is between 15-18’ deep where the dock will be. I plan on anchoring it down with chain and cement filled 5 gallon buckets on the ends. I’ll have a walkway going from the bank to the dock

ID:	27035349 I built this floating dock and walkway on a new pond build. The shore end of the walkway sits on concrete blocks and the pond end on floats. The water level rises and falls several feet, so I built a pivot point where the two pieces join, by running a piece of black pipe between collars joined to both pieces. I anchored the dock in place to keep if from moving side to side by setting oilfield pipe in concrete. Here's a pic of the frame before I screwed the decking on it.

ID:	27035368 I wasnt expecting this much rain before I got everything secured, and the pipe set. There was another pivot point added where the two sections of walkway joined. I felt that one long walkway would have had too severe an angle where it joined the dock during times of extreme drought. Also, I bought the dock floats from a local manufacturing company near Lake Texoma, that kept them in stock. They had slots built in to the top of them that the lumber set in perfectly.

Yes, it's J&I Manufacturing 580-795-7377. They have a price list on their website at jimfg.com that may have the floats listed (it doesn't always show all of their inventory)

I just checked, and the prices are on page 14 of their price list.
