It is FINALLY that time of the year. The two things I look forward to the most; to celebrate the birth of our Savior and the start of MY HUNTING SEASON!!!
I've got a fresh dozen arrows, a new pak of FIXED BLADE BROADHEADS (actually I have two Jak Hammers left..he,he) and my rattling horns are packed! I'm headed to deep South Texas in the morning for 11 days and I have to admit, I haven't been this pumped in a long time! Our ranches have been virtually untouched this year and I can't wait to see what is running around down there.
It's so weird to sit back and watch all the threads during the season and have to wait so long to get started, but hopefully it will be worth it. I will try my best to do a semi-live thread because I will be coming and going into Laredo every few days. My ultimate goal is to rattle in a buck for my 11 year old Son on this trip. I'm also going to try to let little Roman, my six yr old, hunt with me for a javi or a pig.
2 feeders have a little corn in them, but mainly for pigs and I really don't hunt stands anymore. I will be rattling almost exclusively and most of the time, by myself. Bones is going to join me for a few days so we will see how it goes.
