Acting like he is going to run out of bounds, defenders let up and proceed to run more yards, etc. I think Josh Allen has been guilty of this before as well and I think it's BS.

As for roughing the passer. The first call on Will Anderson, was weak. However, you can at least see that contact (albeit, not much) was made to the head/neck area. The second call was complete BS. Mahomes was outside the tackle box juking and jiving looking for an open man or a hole to run. When two defenders were within a foot of him and fully engaged, Mahomes slid down at the very last second. Heck, Mahomes wasn't even hit as the defenders collided with each other above him. Sorry, but QB give up slides should not be allowed if the QB is jockeying for more yards or position.

There also was a blantant missed call for a hip drop tackle on the Texans first drive. This was as text book as it gets. Do I think this rule is stupid? Sure, but it is a rule and the refs would have called that in any other game on another team.

The KC right tackle could have been called for illegal formation a number of times being lined up well behind the line of scrimage. That call slides a bit these days, but again, it's called in other games more often after a warning is provided.

Did the officiating change the outcome of the game? Probably not, the Texans had their own issues on special Teams and offensive line. Regardless, the officiating was bad and clearly benefited one side more than the other. A few other Teams that played KC this season probably would say the same thing.
both calls are weak and roughing the passer needs to be dialed back specifically when the qb is running past the scrimmage line. First call was next to impossible to judge if you are behind the qb as the main referee was…look at it again from that angle at full speed… Mahome’s head bounces back. Did he creat that movement with his head? I don’t know.. . See note below that was copied of the NFL rules.

    Notes
    1. When in doubt about a roughness call or potentially dangerous tactic against the quarterback, the Referee should always call roughing the passer.
