Felt like I was reading my grandfathers life story. Only difference was he graduated from A&M and corps in 1951 10 years prior. We lost him a couple years ago at 93. He too was a west Texas boy from Wichita Falls and married my grandmother whom he met there before A&M. Lot of great stories about him hitch hiking back and forth to and from College Station.

My respect and condolences. They haven’t made em like that I’m a very long time.

I'm sorry amiga...wish I had words, but that was greatness on your part. Wondered why you've been awol.

All I can share is Life has been weird with Dad gone & days go by where everything is fine & then the missing floods out of nowhere...it's the little things & I'm certain the mourning process is different for everyone. Being able to boast & be proud of your father is about as cool as it can get & I'm very, very happy for you in that regard!! Wish I knew him.

As the father of two adult daughters, your words spoke to me. He raised you exactly how I raised mine “be the President!”

Sorry for your loss but grateful for your words. I’m sure you know this but it’s very evident he did a great job with you.

Sounds like a man anyone should be proud to have known. I wish I had. That was a fine tribute to him.
