    Travel trailer slide issue

Leave my unit at deer camp and when I leave during the season I leave the slide out - noticed last weekend when I was testing it that it was very slow when I tried to slide it in - should I pull the slide in every time I leave camp?

Slide has been out on my dads for probably 3 years without moving. I tested it just for SnGs at thanksgiving and it worked. Ours stays out about 350 days a year with supports under it with same results. Dads is covered and ours is inside at 30x40 shop

Were you running the slide off the battery? Was it cold out?

You could get some slide lube and spray the rails down. If it gets dusty where your at the tracks could just be gummed up a bit. Also as mentioned before if your just running off the battry it will definitely be slower than running off of shore power.

My trailer is running off of electricity at the lease which should keep my battery charged - I am taking a charger this weekend just in case

test your battery, even when plugged in power comes from the battery which can get weak over time

As others have said lube the slide seals and lube the slide mechanism on the under side. It helps if you leave the tt entrance door open, you’ll be surprised how sealed tight they are and the suction on the trailer sliding in and out can be significant.

Should you also lube the pulleys and cables?
what do you lube the slide seals with?
