I'm not sure which other casinos offer single deck, but would always end up at the Horseshoe back in the day when I was traveling to vegas 2-3 times a year for work for black jack. Will play, but just not a fan of multi deck shoes.

Horseshoe had a lot of locals and most everyone knew the rules...if someone was playing like a ding dong, ya just hopped tables.

At the time I had $200 out there and split mine, so I had $400 out there. Pretty little blonde was playing a $25 hand, hit on 16 and busted with another 6. Dealer proceeded to flip 16 and then next card was a 4 for 20 and me and the other guy both lose. The guy lost his mind yelling at the blonde to the point security had to come over.
But what if she got the 4 and that gave the dealer the 6, would you then still be mad at her?

Yes it has it has nothing to do with the players card and taking your card. It's a matter of everyone winning if the dealer bust. If the dealer is showing a bust card and you hit on 13, 14, 15, 16 ect it is stupid. If you don't know how to play then don't. If I'm playing and someone sits down and even hits 12 with the dealer showing 2 through 6 I'm gone. Black jack can be very lucrative and is the best game to play if you know how and know strategy. Mostly you find these kind of players at a 6/5- 6 deck shoe for a low table minimum. Play 3/2 and single deck even it's at a $25 min hand and your odds are way greater. Less than .5% edge on 3/2 single deck.

I love it when the table cringes at the same time :-)

Never seen you be so wrong about something before. Stick with WAR or something you can add quickly in your head.

All of gambling is about odds. Casinos have stacked the odds in their favor. They don't need help from someone who doesn't know/play the best odds. I will leave a table if there is someone like that there.

For those who think I'm worried about someone taking MY card, you don't truly understand the game. I'm worried about them affecting the dealers hand. That can happen if they are on my left or right.

For example, Dealer has a 6 showing. You know they have to take another card. You know the odds of that card being a bust card. Never fails, someone with 12 will hit, take the face card that should go to the dealer. If the dealer busts, everyone wins.

Yes, simplistic, but every card taken against the odds affects every other person at the table one way or another. I always asks the table before I want to do something against the odds. If anyone hesitates, I won't do it, unless I'm playing with a bunch a yahoos already.
Explain something please. I am not a blackjack player or gambler. If the dealer has a 6 & has to take another card, what card could possibly bust him?

I was in Mississippi this past week and surprised I ran across single deck table at Beau Rivage. You can bet it was packed.

Dealer has a 6 "SHOWING". Assuming his down card is a 10 (16 of the 52 cards are worth 10). So assuming he has 16, any card 6 or above bust him. Also, because 16 of the 52 cards are worth 10, you assume his draw card will be a 10, in that case if his down card is a 6 or above, he busts. These are good odds and the correct way to play it is to sit on your hands and let things play out.

Funny thing happened on my last trip to Vegas. Exactly as you described; This time everyone at the table played it straight up betting on dealer to bust with a 2 showing. Dealer drew 9 cards and busted. I had $25 on the sucker side bet that paid when dealer busted. Over 8 cards to bust paid 25 to one. I had no idea what just happened cause everyone was high-fiving that dealer busted. Then someone at the opposite side started yelling that I won. Called the pit boss over to confirm and walked off with $2500 on that side bet. So yeah, I'm a fan of people betting right

I was at the Golden Nugget last week. First 2 shoes I was up $300. At the start of the third shoe, the guy playing 3rd base hits his 13 against the dealers 5. He gets a Queen and bust. The rest of us had stayed with bad hands. The dealer then gets a 3 to make 18 and we all lose. I don’t think anyone at the table won another hand on that shoe. Wiped out the whole table. It can happen.
