    Broken Bow Vacation

We just reserved a house in Broken Bow for my family with 2 kids under 10 years old. I’ve heard there’s several things to do and figured I would check here on must do’s and what not do waste time on. We are eating all dinners at the house but curious on good places for lunch. My kids love to fish so looking at making that happen. Planning on bringing light tackle but, curious what the trout like up there for bait. Looking for any and all recommendations. Thanks!

Fish power bait on light line!! 2-4lb test
max. Small split shot and a little bait holder hook. Little ball of power bait or the power trout worms.

Yellow Power Bait if you find it. After that, I find the yellow/green swirl 2nd place. I think it must look like the pellets they feed the trout at the hatchery.

And small hooks. 100% covered by bait. Trout have great eyes and won't bite if they see the line or hook.

I don't recall if barbed hooks are still allowed up there? Maybe in certain areas??

^^^^^^This!! Plus small gold bladed Roostertail Spinners, 1/16 or smaller. I caught a 3 lb and a 4 lb Rainbow near the Walk way bridge just down River from the Broken Bow Spillway.

Greatful Head Pizza, I'm not even a pizza person and we ate there twice in the week we were there and tried to go a third time but it was too crowded.

Had some good seafood at Shuck Me, I believe it's owned by a TBH'r.

We were there over Spring Break 3 or 4 years ago. Lots to do for the kidddos, we all had fun.

I second the small rooster tail. I tried both bait and rooster tail and had best luck on rooster tail catching trout

Those are our 2 favorite places to eat there but we don’t go much anymore.

Greatfulhead pizza, Shuck me and Beaver Bend Lookout kitchen have been good to us.

I have a little place I like to fish. Park at the friends trail head, walk to the red gate and walk around it. your at the river. take a right and follow the bank until you come to a waterfall and it forms an Eddy. We have had good luck fishing there. Its real close to mountain fork park is. Good fishing there too but can get crowded. Also where the dam lets out but it can get crowded too.

                        Its a great place

Check out the Hochatown rescue center. It's a super great petting zoo.
