Best factory ammo for Weatherby Vanguard 25-06

Just picked up a new Weatherby Vanguard S2 25-06 and wanted to see what would be the best factory ammo to use? Thanks

This is what I am currently shooting out of mine, but I have used quite a few over the years. Probably 20 years worth of hunting in Texas with a 25-06.

Found a good deal and bought 10 boxes so I am set for a while.

Probably going to be trial/error. Buy several and see what it likes. I’d buy different bullet weights (100, 115, 120) to see what the gun likes and then dial in a particular brand.

Yup...every rifle is different and it's important to try different brands and bullet weights to see what resonates with your rifle barrel.

Hard to go wrong with the Remington green and yellow box 120gr core-lokt. Especially at the price.

When I shot .25-06 way back when it was it or Federal Premium with a 117 grain bullet. I think that Federal Premium was replaced with Federal blue box 117 gr Power Shok

That is correct. I would buy a box of Federal blue box power shock as I do not have a rifle that does not like them.

I used the Federal Premium for my 22-250, 25-06 and .270. It was good stuff for sure.

Here's how I look at it. Guns are like people. Every gun is different. Just like people that have different favorite foods, every gun is going to prefer one ammo more than another. So, buy several different types to find out what ammo your's shoots best. It's just part of the fun in owning a new firearm.

I know every gun is different, but who tee who on YouTube did a review on a Weatherby vanguard 25-06. Now his was the obsidian, I believe with the threaded barrel and he almost always shoots suppressed. His rifle seemed to like the Remington 120 gr corelokt the best. You can check out his videos on you tube and he seems pretty straightforward with what works and what doesn’t. I find it odd that most people I know that hunt have a 25-06 and love them, but for some reason ammo is always hard to find in this caliber. I have a Winchester model 70 and it likes the Hornady American whitetail 117 gr. Good luck and hope you enjoy your new rifle.

My 25-06 preferred the Federal Fusion, but like others have said, shoot several and find what your gun prefers

That's what I shoot out of mine and have really been impressed.

I would agree, hard to beat Federal stuff. Have used it almost exclusively until I started
reloading. Aside from that, I've killed several deer with a .25-06, its an impressive cal.
                            on them.

I have some HSM that my gun likes. However, like Smart said, the ole’ Remington Core Lokts are tried and true
