I haven’t compared the two, but love my Swaro 10x50 EL. I second the notion of checking out EuroOptic.com. They usually have some really good buys on demo models. Good luck with it all…

B&H photo is great place to buy also.

$1000 these hard to beat, IMO.

I had the Leica Ultravid 10x42. Loved them, they were small and light. I'd choose those over the SLC.
Flip a coin if it was between the EL tho.
They were a great pair of binos. I now bounce between a set of EL Range and Leica Geovid range. They are both great, can't go wrong with either.

I used to be in the sporting goods business for over 20 years and I looked thru and dealt with all types of optics and I was fortunate to hunt all over the world. The thing that pushed me to Swaros was that they liked my eyes better than any, but also, as I was fortunate to hunt many great places with guides and I would say that it was 80 plus % used Swaros....... that being said, the eye is a peculiar thing and I have stood in front of many people that said they could see better out of a glass that I hated!!! If you can look at both it would be best, but if you can't I would pick Swaro for me, but you probably can't go wrong with either compared to what you are used to. Good luck!!! It will make a big difference when you make the leap!

There is an old saying - “hunt with your binoculars and shoot with your scope”. It holds very true. The Swaro and Leica are very close in my opinion. I have a pair of Leica HDB 3000 range finding binos and they are just as good as the Swarovski EL. I don’t have a pair of NL Pure but they have to be good. My wife likes her Brunson Eterna bettter than her Leicas and she likes her Zeiss HD5 scope better than the Swaro Z6. It’s all personal preference.

it is amazing what you can see 100 yards away in the dark when you can’t see anything with the naked eye.

I use Swaro 10x42 EL’s. When I first went with Swaro, I compared them side by side with Leica. My eyes strain easily and the Swaro’s worked a little better for me. The Leica were good too but Swaro edged them out. Every pair of Zeiss and Steiner I looked thru, gave me eye strain/headache. Just my 2 cents.
