Plane was going awfully fast if the only factor was bird strike. If they been coming in for a landing and all else was well, they would’ve been much slower

Those pilots either forgot everything there is to know about landing an airliner or something other than a bird strike happened. That plane has at least two and probably 3 back up systems for hydraulics. No gear, no flaps, no spoilers makes no since.
