Are Quality Binos Better on Your Eyes?

I am currently running Leupold BX4 10x42 guide series binos. When I got them they had great reviews for the price range(I found them on sale for $500 or so). I have found that my eyes cannot take looking through them for very long without getting a foggy/head ache feeling. I found myself looking through the glass more on my recent mule deer hunt and ended up dreading it as the day would progress.

I am planning more western hunts and I know glass is important. I am hoping to get first hand feedback on this to know if quality glass will likely solve this issue for me?

I bought a new pair of Meopta meopro air this year and I can tell you have have much less eye fatigue while using them as compared to my Nikon monarchs and even the Vortex Vipers my wife has. Also the low light capability difference is much different.

In short, yes. You should not get eye strain when looking through high quality glass. Even when glassing all day on a western hunt.

Yes. I can glass with my swaros all day. Night and day difference in eye strain IMO

Have you experienced the foggy/head ache problems with cheaper glass before?

Yep, Swarovski imo is the best choice for all day glassing, big difference between stuff you use sitting in a deer blind looking at a feeder, and professional grade binoculars for the all day long sheep, elk , muledeer, pronghorn hunt
and eye strain is a problem
a top notch tripod is mandatory

Oh yes. It didn’t take long to hit. An hour or so and I’d have to take a break. A buddy let me use his swaros as I thought they were a waste of money. No headache and I started picking up quite a few more muleys. For what you do id say they are worth it.

IMO, the $1,000 threshold on optics is where you start getting into really good glass and most people including myself cannot tell the difference between optics from that range and up.. When i got my new pair my wife compared them to her new vortex and was she could notice the difference immediately.

Trophy 8 is spot on. I have the EL Range 10x42.
If I was buying new again, I'd take a look at the NL Pure

Meopta Meopro air 10x42 I could not justify the swaro.

If they weren't better than my eyes, I wouldn't need them.
