TYHP hunt question

This may be better served in the public hunt section but I applied for a hunt for my son this year in January through the TYHP it shows the status as applied. Do you get some sort of notification if you are or are not selected and how far in advance does that selection typically occur?

Yes you'll get an email. Usually a couple weeks prior. rgb on here could provide more info.

They typically select about 30 days out, but they could call you last minute if a spot opens up. That's what they told us a few weeks ago, when my son went on his first TYHP hunt.

no, status doesn't change. You don't get told that you are not drawn. Only changes if you are drawn

This hunt is the 18/19 at this stage I am going to assume the lack of updates means he wasn’t selected but I guess that could change.

I’ve been on 6 TYHP hunts. You will usually be told 3-4 weeks ahead of time. Just assume you didn’t get selected if you’re within that time frame.

as far as getting a definitive result. It’s easier for them to just say yes to 6-8 kids than sending no to hundreds that applied.
