Bust out the popcorn…
Well my target buck has been showing up pretty regularly! I went out right as the North Texas thunderstorm ended yesterday evening. 5pm… when he makes his appearance I had a pack of pigs run up to the feeder and I heard deer blowing just inside the timber. My first thought is, if you run my deer off you must pay the price!
So this big momma got to witness the mystical flight of the arrow and sent her to hog heaven via Mathews Lift Missile.
Rewind: I picked up this lease a week before season started so I haven’t had to time secure the feeder legs. She flopped over and almost took the feeder out.
10 minutes later 4 more pigs stepped out. I drew on the biggest and they caught the wind of the dead pig and bolted.
With darkness approaching quickly in the overcast skies a young 8pt steps out to view the carnage. He continues to walk along trying to figure out the green lighted nock that is sitting on top of a pile of pig.
It was a memorable hunt to say the least!
