Silverado o2 sensor

I was getting a P0138 for bank 1 sensor 2. I replaced it with a new Bosch direct fit. Old part number 12609457 YG2, new part number 15698.

Now I am getting 3 codes, P2271, P0138, and P013A the first two are on the replaced sensor. I did clear codes when I replaced it.

According to the internet the new part number is correct. Is it a bad sensor?

The odds that you got a bad sensor are low. You can verify if the polarity is switching with a scan tool. The three things to replace with those codes are 1. o2 Sensor, 2. Catalytic Converter, 3. ECU . You already replaced the o2 sensor, I'd probably try a new cat before an ecu...

Don't buy a.cat until you've tried cataclean. Stuff worked for me

The aftermarket O2 sensors are hit or miss. Triple check the connector is clean and tight. And replace the 02 sensor.

Catalytic converter will set a P0420

If the O2 sensor did not fully seat or did not cleanly follow the threading into position you would get bad sensor codes.

I would get an OEM and do the sensor again. the other fixes are way more $$

I put the old sensor back in and I have driven over 250 miles and no service engine lights yet.

You know dirty injectors will cause a down stream o2 to trigger. The upstream is trying to get get to stoic and runs out of room to make the correction and the code sets.

I could see that. If he was getting rich or lean codes. These trucks were pretty black and white in diag. The fact he had new codes with the new sensor. Leads me to he got a new bad part.
