Even though we are halfway around the world, it's these random acts of kindness that really help. Especially on my younger guys.

I was introduced to something called "tastykakes" while in Iraq this yr. Darn things were so good i started getting my Pa g/f to get her dad to send some down here periodically so i could keep my fix going

Ok, here is mine for this year...........A young man my daughter goes to school with is having a particularly tough year at home. He is in a single parent family and financial times are tough. He mentioned to my daughter that he wanted to buy a few of his family members a Christmas present but that he did not have any money. Yesterday, I picked him up at his house and brought him to work with me. After a long day of his performing much manual labor, I rewarded him with the cash he needed to buy his family Christmas presents. He was so happy, he asked me to take him shopping last night. So......I did!! He's a good kid and deserves a break.

Seems like I remember someone once saying..........."tis better to give than receive"

Oh yeah, now I remember who it was. His birthday is right around the corner.

Tis the season. Great idea. I'll be looking for him to bring me my chance to give back some of what I've been richly blessed with.

We had a friend call us asking if we could borrow them some money to help out with their bills. He had just got laid off and they were expecting their 2nd child. My father-in-law had just passed away and his house was now vacant. Knowing that untill he finds another job, his asking for financial help would prolly be a monthly thing so we came up with something to help everyone out. They would help us fix up and "modernize" the house and help us around the farm for free rent. It's been working good so far and they have been a lot of help as well. He just got hired on at a company doing welding and is starting Jan. 2nd.

I gave a young teenager, Cerebral palsy baby during his early years, one of my deer mounts as a gift for his Christmas present this year. He lives way up North, never having had an opportunity to hunt, his Dad passed away several years ago. A part of me, Texas, what we allstand for....is now a part of him and his life. I hope and pray he will one day experience what we all stand for.

              Merry Christmas to all!

My act of kindness for this year was. I work with a lady that her and her husband both have cancer. All there money goes to pay for medicine and bills because they have no insurance. There washer and dryer went out so me and 2 other guys chipped in to purchase a washer for them because 1 guy all ready had a dryer that he gave them.

Anytime I'm out to lunch or dinner and there is a GI in uniform eating by him or herself I pay for their meal. I feel it is the very least I can do...

The thing's I remember most was giving the 2 deer I harvested at the Aransas hunt to a lady down the road with 5 children. She needed the help her husband has back problems. The other was giving the hog I harvested from the aransas hunt to a little girl who had hunted with her dad both weekends for a hog she told me she did not like deer but loved pig. Then she said we tried hard but could not get one. When she said that I showed her the one in the cooler. Nothing like the smile you get from the little ones. And does it ever make you feel good.

It was not a stranger but I was still able to help someone this year. An old HS friend of mine who is a single mother was moving to fort worth and ony has a car. It is right here at christmas and se could not afford to rent a uhaul. I would have gone over with my truc and trailer but I was out of town. My wife and I just decided to pay for the Uhaul and the move was a success.
